In the second half of the 1930s, a small but architecturally remarkable building was erected in the then independent town of Přímětice near Znojmo - the monument to Prokop Diviš (1698-1765), a Premonstratensian monk and parish priest of Přímětice, known primarily as a naturalist, physicist and inventor of the lightning rod. The monument was built in close proximity to the church in honor of his Přímětice activities, and on the 170th anniversary of his death, his monument was built in close proximity to the church in 1936. The project for the monument was developed by the prominent Brno functionalist architect and urban planner Bohuslav Fuchs. Fuchs designed a purely functionalist building with a circular ground plan with a flat roof and a glass wall. The monument, whose facade is decorated with an additional bust of Prokop Diviš by academic sculptor Vincenc Makovsky, was ceremonially opened on June 28, 1936. In 2019, the building underwent a complete renovation in a functionalist spirit, initiated by the South Moravian Museum in Znojmo (current administrator). The building received new plaster, paint on the facade, windows and doors, and the flat roof was also repaired. The monument thus regained its original contrasting colors, i.e. the white facade and blue fillings of the openings. This restored its original stylistic purity. Due to its architectural and memorial values, the building has the status of an immovable cultural monument.
