The Municipal Savings Bank project is a joint work of architects Bohuslav Fuchs and Jindřich Kumpošt. It was Jindřich Kumpošt who in 1923 chose Bohuslav Fuchs as his collaborator for the building office in Brno, and although both architects later opened their own practices, the work on the design of the municipal savings bank for Třebíč brought them together again. Their design was implemented in 1932–1933, and their modern new building significantly but sensitively entered the historical environment of Karlovo náměstí in Třebíč.
The building is conceived in the spirit of supreme functionalism, with a consistent subordination of form to purpose and with a clear connection of the internal layout with the external expression of the building using glass, reinforced concrete and ceramic tiles. It thus creates a harmonious whole of technical rationality and refined expression. The interior shows a thoughtful work with light, it was designed as an open space, corresponding to the representative and at the same time practical character of the financial institution. Despite the change in functional use, the building remained authentically preserved in its mass, facade and a significant part of the interior and is a protected monument.
