The Architectural Manual of Havlíčkův Brod (AMHB), supported by the town of Havlíčkův Brod, is a Czech-English professional and popularizing database featuring 80 of the most significant architectural and artistic structures, building complexes and public-space designs created in Havlíčkův Brod and its environs from 1900 to the present day.

The core of the database consists of texts which not only describe the significance and architectural or artistic conception of the structures, but they also provide information on their history and the circumstances behind their creation. They outline the lives and work of their designers – architects, architectural studios, construction companies, and visual artists. And not least, they also illustrate how the approach to modern architectural interventions in the urban fabric has evolved over the course of nearly twelve decades.

Each entry is accompanied by an appendix containing both contemporary and archival photographs, as well as architectural plans, where the authors have succeeded in uncovering historical material. AMHB is part of the universal Architectural Manual, which connects similar projects created according to the unified methodology of the Brno Architectural Manual (BAM) and enables cross-searching
among them. In its conception, the project draws directly from from the Litomyšl Architectural Manual (LAM, http://lam.litomysl.cz)

Information about the buildings is also made available to the public through guided walks as part of the Walks (with) the City series and via the project’s Facebook page. The project was realized with the financial support of the European Union and the National Recovery Plan announced by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the town of Havlíčkův Brod.
