Václav Kašpar was a builder from Pardubice, originally from Holice, who built a brickworks in Mikulovice in 1881. The brickworks was quite successful. Antonín Manych (a builder and specialist in brickworks design) played a significant role in expanding the business; in 1882, he married Václav’s daughter, Marie. Václav and his wife had 11 children, many of whom became builders. They founded the company “Václav Kašpar and Sons.” After their father’s death in the early 20th century, the family business was taken over primarily by the brothers Emil and Karel (who were active in Pardubice on construction projects in the Bílý Předměstí neighborhood) and Václav, who continued to run the family brickworks. His first wife was Františka Jeřábková. After her death, he married Marie Stehlíková, with whom he had sons—who later became builders.
